Turkey is a bustling center of trade, a strategic-economic and political nexus between different regions of the world. Its location also brings a series of constraints into picture while Turkey is coping with intertwined conflicts. Politics in Turkey is very complex and it contains all states of matter. In such a fluid context, it is difficult to deal with solid existing stereotypes.

State of Matters TR is an independent platform that examines Turkey as in its fourth state of matter: plasma! Like gas, plasma can change its volume and shape, but unlike gas, it can also change its electrical charge. We offer a unique perspective into the current conflicts in the Middle East, with valuable insight into the historical, political and cultural contexts from Turkey’s geopolitical vantage point. Through ‘case studies’, historical documents, we aim to dismantle prejudices about Turkey.
